The Saints are making an internal hire for their next head coach.
ESPN is reporting that New Orleans is hiring defensive coordinator Dennis Allen to replace longtime Saints head coach Sean Payton, who stepped down in January.
Allen was the Saints' defensive coordinator since 2015, and New Orleans finished top-5 in points allowed over the last two seasons.
The 49-year-old was also the head coach of the Raiders from 2012 to 2014, where he had a record of 8-and-28.
