Louisiana parishes are getting $100 million in Hazard Mitigation funding.

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced the cash on Friday, saying it covers Hurricanes Ida and Zeta, the May 2021 flooding, and winter weather from last year.

Edwards wants the money to be used to speed up disaster recovery.

The cash will be used for things like turning land into green space, elevating homes, and retrofitting some structures.
