Doctors are strongly encouraging more Louisiana residents to get coronavirus booster shots, because the pandemic is still with us.
As New Orleans heads into a major carnival-season weekend, officials with the Louisiana Department of Health said this week that well over two million people are fully vaccinated in the state, but only 37% have received a booster.
Dr. Fred Lopez, an infectious diseases expert with LSU Health, says boosters are an important safeguard amid the continuing pandemic.
