The AAA Weekend Gas Watch says the statewide average gas price in Louisiana is $3.48 a gallon for regular unleaded.
That price is up 17 cents from a week ago, and is a $1.04 higher than a year ago.
The average price at the pump in New Orleans is $3.50. In Baton Rouge, it's $3.51.
The national average is $3.73.
Gasoline supplies are down and demand is up, but the real culprit is crude prices of more than $100 a barrel, the highest since 2011.
