Fox 8 reports that New Orleans Police have arrested four teenage suspects in a deadly carjacking on Monday.

From Fox 8:

Those arrested include a boy who turned 17 last month, a 16-year-old girl and two 15-year-old girls, NOPD Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said at a news conference at police headquarters. One of the youngest girls and the boy were turned in to police by their parents, Ferguson said, after surveillance images of the suspects were disseminated by news media Monday afternoon.

Officers say the carjacking happened in broad daylight at the intersection of Bienville and North Cortez Streets.

The car dragged the 73-year-old woman, identified as Linda Frickey, for quite a way. She died at the scene with her arm severed from her body.

Fox 8 reports that Ferguson says the four will face second-degree murder charges and he will ask Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams to charge them as adults.
