The city of Kenner may lose millions in FEMA reimbursements of Hurricane Ida cleanup costs because of a reported procedural mistake.

Mayor Ben Zahn's administration evidently didn't follow the Federal Emergency Management Administration's rules requiring the city to hire monitors to keep track of how much trash, fallen trees, and debris were picked up after the storm last August.

As a result, more than $2 million in FEMA reimbursements may be in jeopardy.
