Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards is hoping to spend 150-million dollars on coastal restoration and protection projects.

He announced the proposal today saying a lot of work needs to be done on helping the coastline recover from hurricanes in 2020 and 2021.

Edwards says the money would be used for things like the Cameron Gulf Shoreline Protection and Southwest Coastal projects.

The cash comes from the state budget surplus.
