State wildlife officials say Louisiana's small population of endangered whooping cranes are all in good shape.

Officials with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries caught 12 male and nine female whooping cranes between November and March.

Their main mission was to replace transmitters, but wildlife officers also took the opportunity to check the birds out and collect samples.

All the cranes are reportedly in good health.
