Criminal District Court judges will temporarily have to postpone trials and reschedule hearings that can't be held virtually.

Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson announced Sunday that she's recalling deputies from courthouse duty to restore order and security at the Orleans Justice Center jail.

The deputies will be out of the courthouse for at least the first three days of this week.

Prosecutors in District Attorney Jason Williams's office were advised that the physical court closure could last up to two weeks.
