Orleans Parish Criminal Court Reopens As Deputies Return To Courthouse

The Orleans Parish Criminal Court reopens today with the return of deputies to the courthouse.

Sheriff Susan Hutson held a Zoom meeting on Monday night after she pulled the deputies from the court to provide more staffing at the jail.

Hutson is providing partial staffing at the courthouse starting today so that trials can start or continue.

Some judges will continue holding some of their hearings virtually, but deputies will be back in the courtroom.
