Baton Rouge Man Sentenced For NOLA Firefighters Pension Fund Embezzlement

A Baton Rouge man is off to prison after pleading guilty to embezzling from the New Orleans Firefighters Pension and Relief Fund.

A federal judge sentenced 72-year-old Wayne Triche to 41 months in prison on Tuesday.

Triche pleaded guilty to wire fraud and tax fraud and was ordered to pay more than $900,000 in restitution to the pension fund.

He's also required to pay more than $300,000 to the Internal Revenue Service for failing to report the embezzled funds as income.
