New signs are going up on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge to warn drivers about speeding across the 18-mile span.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development said that the new signs will be in place by this Friday.
The speed-control program will also include cameras on the bridge to monitor drivers' time getting across.
Anybody who makes it from one end of the bridge to the other in less than 18 minutes will be mailed a citation with a fine.
