UPDATE: The mask mandate was rescinded.
Southern University officials are reinstating their indoor mask mandate as of today, with classes starting this week.
The Southern University System is reinstating the mandate on all campuses, including Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Southern University at New Orleans, Southern University Shreveport, Southern University Law Center, and Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center.
The systemwide vaccine protocols also remain in place.
