A federal judge is considering a lawsuit opposing Gov. John Bel Edwards's plan to move some violent juvenile inmates to the state prison in Angola.

Civil rights attorneys are suing Edwards and the Office of Juvenile Justice, and they presented their arguments on Tuesday.

They claim the inmates of the Bridge City Center for Youth won't have their education or rehab needs met at the state prison.

Edwards says the move is necessary because of a string of recent riots and escapes at the Bridge City lockup.
