The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of thousands of dollars in tools from Habitat for Humanity in Mandeville.

Late last month, thieves broke into a fenced-in storage yard at Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West.

They made off with $5,000 worth of tools, leaving construction crews and volunteers without the tools they need to continue work on seven homes already under construction for families in need.
