Mardi Gras parade routes will be shortened again in 2023, making them similar to the routes used earlier this year.
The Mayor's Mardi Gras Advisory Council made the announcement on Thursday evening.
City officials say the shortage of police manpower is prompting the reduced parade routes, which won't all be exactly the same as the ones used in 2022.
Krewes were happy to roll again this year, even on the shorter routes, after Mardi Gras was canceled in 2021 because of the pandemic.
