Tropical Storm Karl continued to move slowly towards the southern coast of Mexico Friday.
Karl was moving south-southeast at 7 mph as of the 10 a.m. update from the National Hurricane Center.

Here are the key messages from the National Hurricane Center:
Forecasters are also continuing to watch a disturbance in the eastern tropical Atlantic.
"An area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms located several hundred miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands is associated with a tropical wave," said a NHC forecaster. "Environmental conditions appear marginally conducive for some gradual development during the next few days while the system moves westward to west-northwestward at about 10 mph. By early next week, environmental conditions are forecast to become less favorable as the disturbance is expected to move into an area of stronger upper-level winds."
The 2022 Atlantic hurricane season ends November 30.
