The Port of New Orleans is filling out the paperwork for a container facility planned for St. Bernard Parish.
Port officials on Thursday released updated designs for the Louisiana International Terminal based on input from the community.
The billion-dollar facility is expected to create more than 17,000 jobs and generate $1 billion a year in tax revenue for the state, as well as $470 million for the parish.
It will accommodate the bigger new container ships that can't navigate under the Crescent City Connection bridge.
