New Orleans City Council is reinstating a member of the board of the Housing Authority of New Orleans removed by Mayor LaToya Cantrell.
Sharon Jasper is a longtime public housing advocate who served as president of the housing authority's Section 8 Resident Council.
Cantrell removed Jasper late last month after other board members complained she was disruptive and incited threats toward the board and its employees.
City Council says the mayor terminated Jasper without proper notification or specifics.
