Mayor LaToya Cantrell spoke well of New Orleans in her annual State of the City address on Wednesday night.
The mayor started out by noting the city's recovery from the pandemic and then praised the city's hospitality industry, stating that unemployment is down and nightlife is robust.
Cantrell spoke of the city's expenditure of federal dollars on infrastructure projects and also discussed her administration's efforts to fight crime by supporting the NOPD through pay raises, bonuses, and incentives for officers.
