ALDI opened a new store in Metairie today.
The national and international grocery chain's new location is on Veterans Boulevard.
There are 2,200 ALDI stores in the United States, and they're adding new stores in Louisiana. A company spokesperson says a Covington location is opening on January 19.
At today's grand opening, the first 100 customers received a gift bag filled with groceries, with four customers winning $100 gift cards.
