Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon is contacting Louisiana leaders about a possible special legislative session to address the state's insurance crisis.
After recent major hurricanes, many insurers abandoned Louisiana or went out of business.
More than 125,000 policyholders have had to turn to Louisiana Citizens, the state's insurer of last resort.
Donelon says he'd like to see an incentives package to lure insurers back to the state.
Gov. John Bel Edwards is expected to discuss the matter this week with leaders of the legislature.
