New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell says all major Mardi Gras parades will return to their traditional routes this year.
In her announcement today, the mayor said city officials have contracted 150 outside law enforcement officers to ensure the routes are properly secured.
Cantrell added that the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office and the sheriff's association will provide the vehicle of funding for the officers.
This comes after several parade routes were shortened last year due to a decline of police officers in New Orleans.
