An armed robbery and attempted murder case against an escapee from the Bridge City youth detention center is dismissed because of a missed deadline.

Kendell Myers and five others escaped from Bridge City last July, and Myers reportedly shot a man during a carjacking on Nashville Avenue the same day.

District Attorney Jason Williams said he intended to charge Myers and an accomplice as adults, but his office missed the deadline to charge the teens in adult court.

A judge tossed out the case last Thursday.
