The organizers of the effort to recall Mayor LaToya Cantrell want the Inspector General of New Orleans to investigate a recent mass mailout on the mayor's behalf.
Pamphlets highlighting Cantrell's accomplishments in 2022 were recently mailed to 106,000 New Orleans homes.
The brochure doesn't indicate who paid for it, but includes the mailing address of Cantrell's office.
City officials say the mailout cost taxpayers $50,000.
State law bars the use of public funds to advertise the name or face of a public official.
