Tourism leaders in New Orleans expect booming hotel occupancy over the Mardi Gras weekend.
Hundreds of tourists have already arrived at the New Orleans airport. Members of the Dancing Grannies of Waukesha, Wisconsin, flew in on Thursday. They lost four members in November 2021 when a career criminal with black nationalist views drove an SUV through a parade.
The 610 Stompers invited the Grannies to join them on Sunday in the Krewe of Thoth parade.
Local hotels are expected to hit 95 percent capacity this weekend.
