A Tulane professor will be this year's King of Carnival.

The Rex Organization announced on Saturday that the honor goes to Costa Rican native Ludovico Feoli, who has lived in New Orleans for more than 20 years.

Feoli received the official Rex flag to fly outside his Uptown home.

Feoli is a research professor in political science and Latin American studies at Tulane University.

He also serves as the executive director of the Center for Inter-American Policy and Research and sits on a number of boards in the city.
