A New Orleans police officer is under investigation after video on social media showed him throwing a woman to the ground in a Mardi Gras crowd.
The incident happened in the middle of an altercation in front of a Popeyes on St. Charles Avenue.
The video shows the officer carrying the woman from the front of the restaurant and dumping her in the middle of the street.
In a Monday news conference, New Orleans Interim Police Chief Michelle Woodfork said the officer has been reassigned pending the result of the investigation.
