Organizers of the effort to recall New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell are taking a victory lap.
Belden Batiste and Eileen Carter on Wednesday delivered what they describe as a successful petition to put the recall effort before the voters.
They didn't say how many signatures they handed over to Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters Sandra Wilson, but said they're "confident" there are enough.
Per state law, Wilson has 20 working days to count and verify the handwritten signatures of qualified voters on the petition.
