Baton Rouge police are releasing more details about the chase preceding a helicopter crash that killed two officers last weekend.
Authorities said a Ford Mustang wanted in connection to a hit-and-run overnight Sunday reached up to 150 miles per hour and ran multiple red lights during the pursuit.
The suspect accused of driving the Mustang, DeAndre Bessye, allegedly turned off the car lights and was seen throwing a white bag out of the vehicle.
Investigators believe a helicopter pursuing Bessye hit a tree and went down in a field, killing Sergeant David Poirrier and Corporal Scotty Canezaro.
Bessye is facing several charges including manslaughter.
