Orleans District Attorney Jason Williams plans to appeal the new trial date for three teens accused of a deadly carjacking.

The Louisiana Supreme Court ruled the judge in the Linda Frickey case had to reschedule the trial to give the defendants time to review evidence presented by prosecutors.

The judge ruled last month that the evidence was inadmissible because it wasn't turned over to the defense in a timely manner, but an appeals court overturned the decision before the trial was supposed to start on April 3.

The trial is now scheduled to begin on March 18, 2024, a delay Williams calls unacceptable.
