Suspect Arrested In Death Of Lafourche Parish Deputy

A suspect faces charges for a deadly crash that killed a Lafourche Parish deputy over the weekend.

On Wednesday, 33-year-old Anthony Savoie of Bourg was released from the hospital and taken to jail.

Savoie is accused of ramming a police car during a chase in Thibodaux on Sunday, resulting in the death of Sgt. Nicholas Pepper.

Savoie is charged with first-degree murder of a police officer, attempted first-degree murder of a police officer, aggravated flight from an officer, and failure to appear at a court date.
