Several proposals are ready to come up for debate as the 2023 Regular Legislative Session gets started today.
When the session convenes at noon, Gov. John Bel Edwards will deliver his final State of the State Address.
The governor will outline his final legislative agenda, which includes pay raises for teachers.
Also on the table are bills requiring violent criminals to pay six-figure bonds, providing pay raises for state legislators, and paying for bulletproof vests for peace officers statewide.
