An escaped jail inmate in Orleans Parish is back in custody.
Officials said 32-year-old Darren Mitchell was found by officers at a home on the 4800 block of Bonita Drive in New Orleans East.
Mitchell allegedly escaped last night by jumping from the second floor parking garage of the University Medical Center, where he was receiving treatment for stomach pain.
The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office says Mitchell will be taken back to UMC for injuries he sustained in the jump.
