Two New Orleans City Council Members Call For Fines On Plaza Tower Owner

Two New Orleans City Council members will introduce motions in today's meeting to impose stiffer fines on the owner of Plaza Tower.

Councilwoman Lesli Harris wants code enforcement to levy daily fines on the blighted property's owner, developer Joe Jaeger.

Councilman J.P. Morrell's motion would have code enforcement determine the costs of street closures in the area and pass those costs on to Jaeger.

The crumbling tower has been the site of recent fires and the accidental death of a homeless man.
