State Treasurer John Schroder is reporting another successful event to return unclaimed money to citizens.

On Saturday, the Treasury returned $904,000 to residents of the Greater New Orleans area as part of an annual event at Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie.

The previous record amount returned in a one-day event was last year's $420,000.

Since taking office, Schroder has returned more than $2 million in unclaimed property at the annual Lakeside event.
