New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is apologizing to the relatives of female shooting victims for something she said that offended them.
At Wednesday's weekly crime news conference, Cantrell said she overgeneralized when referring to a recent shooting that killed two women outside of a hookah bar in Treme.
The relatives of Ja'Diamond Jones says Cantrell's remarks last Friday seemed to imply Jones was not an innocent victim.
They say Jones wasn't involved in any criminal activity, despite the mayor's insinuations.
