The state legislature is considering two bills that aim to crack down on fentanyl dealers by creating stiffer penalties.

Rep. John Stefanski is the author a bill that would impose a life sentence without parole on anybody caught with a gram of fentanyl.

Stefanski is the co-author of another bill that would create a more tiered approach for fentanyl dealers.

Both bills will be up for discussion next week before a senate committee.
