New Orleans' former top plumbing official is accused of stealing more than $100,000 in permitting fees that should have gone to the Sewerage & Water Board between 2012 and 2021.
Federal prosecutors charged Jay Arnold this week with embezzlement by a government agent.
For more than ten years, Arnold was the utility's services administrator, in charge of running the city's plumbing inspections and permit division.
