Trial preparations are underway for the 49-year-old man accused of killing a Covington priest and his longtime assistant and burning their bodies.

Antonio Tyson faces two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Father Otis Young and Ruth Prats near St. Peter Church last November.

Tyson is also charged with one count of obstruction of justice. He was indicted in March and pleaded not guilty.

In a Thursday hearing, the judge gave the prosecution and the defense until July 13 to turn over more pre-discovery evidence.
