The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission hopes to reopen more pools this summer, despite a shortage of lifeguards.
NORD Commission CEO Larry Barabino Jr. says they aim to open eleven outdoor pools this year, up from only seven last year.
Barabino says they plan to have pools open citywide, but on a rotating basis because there aren't enough lifeguards.
He says they should have about 90 lifeguards this year, compared to 60 last summer.
