New Orleans homeowners are facing increases in their property taxes because of rising property values.

Louisiana law requires a reassessment of property values every four years, and 2023 is the latest of those years.

Orleans Parish Assessor Errol Williams says average home price per square foot has risen in every ZIP code since 2019, sometimes sharply.

The property tax rolls will be available to the public at the Orleans Parish Assessor's office from July 17 to August 15.

Homeowners can appeal the assessments until August 18.
