Ochsner Health System is entering into a new partnership with the MD Anderson Cancer Center of Southeastern Louisiana.
The two health systems announced the arrangement on Thursday.
The partnership is one of seven in the nation, and will operate out of seven Ochsner sites in St. Tammany, the Westbank, Baton Rouge, Uptown, Kenner, and other locations.
Patients will be provided a chance to try emerging cancer treatments close to home.
The CDC says Louisiana has the nation's second-highest rate of new cancer cases.
