Louisiana is set to receive more than a billion federal dollars to help expand broadband availability statewide.

The Department of Commerce says nearly 300,000 homes and small businesses in Louisiana don't have access to high-speed Internet.

The Biden administration stated on Monday that the funds will come from the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment program as part of the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
