The hiring process for the next superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department is on to the next round.
City officials say six semifinalists have been chosen out of a field of 33 candidates.
The semifinalists, whose names have not been announced, will take part in a two-day assessment by city leaders later this month.
The superintendent search is being led by Mayor LaToya Cantrell's office with assistance from the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
