An investigation is underway after an officer-involved shooting in Metairie.
Police say this all-unfolded late Saturday night when deputies from the Jefferson Parish Sherriff's Office were called to a report of an armed robbery in the 4400 block of Hearst Street.
Upon arrival, deputies detained a woman who matched the description of one of the suspects. As they approached the male suspect, he took off running.
Deputies caught up with the suspect in the 2600 block of Houma Street. That's where police say the suspect was holding a firearm.
One of the deputies fired at the suspect, striking him once.
He was taken to an area hospital. There's no word on his condition.
