The search continues this morning for an Oklahoma man who fell into the Mississippi River while kayaking in St. Charles Parish.
The sheriff's office says 41-year-old Melvin Emde fell overboard near Matis Road in Hahnville just after midnight on Monday.
Emde and his 18-year-old son were fishing in two separate kayaks when the accident happened.
The search lasted most of the day on Monday, and involved a dive team, sonar equipment, a small boat, a K9 officer, a drone, and a Coast Guard helicopter.
