Clemency hearing dates are being set for a number of Louisiana death-row inmates.

All but one of the 57 inmates on Louisiana's death row have made the request.

The Pardon Board turned away the clemency applications last month, stating they weren't eligible due to an advisory from Attorney General Jeff Landry.

Gov. John Bel Edwards sent the board a letter asking them to set dates for clemency hearings.

Ten of the inmates who are asking to have their death sentences commuted to life in prison are from East Baton Rouge Parish. Three are from Orleans Parish.

So far, 20 hearing dates have been set for October and November in Baton Rouge.
