The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an elderly woman in Metairie who was killed by her own car.
Deputies responded around 10 a.m. Saturday to a report of an unoccupied car with its engine running in a business parking lot on Clearview Parkway near West Napoleon. They found the woman under the car's passenger side.
The woman died at the hospital.
Investigators believe the woman forgot to put the car into park before she got out. The backup lights were on when deputies arrived.
