Audit: LDH Paid Millions On Behalf Of Medicaid Recipients In Other States

A state audit says the Louisiana Department of Health paid out millions of dollars to hundreds of Medicaid recipients living outside the state.

The Louisiana Legislative Auditors Office released the report on Monday.

The audit says LDH paid about $3 million between 2019 and 2023 to cover 380 Medicaid recipients who were identified as living in other states.

The money was paid to Managed Care Entities, and then distributed to Medicaid recipients.
